What's This Grump-O-Verse All About?
The Grump-O-Verse™ is a place where us kids (yes, I count!) get to hang out with The Grumpopotamus™ and his motley crew of fantastical friends.
Hold on, I need to say something first for all of this to make sense.
I get to hang out because, well, you see the kid over there in the group? That’s me! No, seriously, it’s me as a kiddo. So since I am the voice talking here and I am the hero of the universe….shhhh, it’s my story, I tell it like I want….this Grump-O-Verse as I call it is all about me and my friends. Get it? It is a universe and the main character’s name is The Grumpopotamus…The Grump-O-Verse. Clever, aren’t I?
Anyway, back to the question. What is The Grump-O-Verse? Like I said, it is a place for little ol’ ordinary me and my extraordinary friends to go about our extra, extra unordinary days. You never know where the day will take you and who you will bump into along the way.
The Grumpopotamus, aka The Grumpo, is my bestie…well, most of the time. He is big and scary looking and stomps around a lot mumbling something about “OoDaBaDaOoo” but once you get past the terrifying part, he is an alright guy. He is with me through the tough times like a good friend should be so he gets the BF award. Did I mention he is grumpy the majority of the time? I mean, it is how he got his name after all.
There are all of our wonderful sidekicks of course.
Sassarat is the happiest little mouse wearing a track suit, break dancing, and singing something about “Airplanes” you ever have seen!
NInjee is well, a ninja, duh. He loves to play “tag” with all of us and none of us ever win except The Grumpopotamus somehow. You don’t see him all that much (he is a NINJA), but he does show up for a good video game when he is not throwing Ninjee stars.
Then there is Bully Boar, his name says it all, but he is very good at the sport things. He has a lot to say, not generally on the nice end of the spectrum.
Frankie the Fire-Breathing Dragon, who is our fierce defender, especially with Bully Boar. She tends to fly off the handle a bit quickly, but is always quick to apologize. She likes the phrase, “That’s a bunch of Balooka”…not sure what Balooka is, but she means it every time!
Señor Gaucho is Mr. Cool with his guitar. He is super sweet, but randomly talks about his missing cowboy hat and gets sad.
ContraDuck loves to argue. He will literally just say the opposite of you to get into a debate. I don’t think he means any harm , just seems bored.
Then there is Lady Pearl, Distract-O-Cat, and my personal favorite….Jett Jett. It’s really not a fair comparison; he is my forever loving dog whose drool and slobber are undeniable.
Anyway, you never know where you will find us. Could be at school, the dentist, the beach, on vacation, the playground, you name it! I mean, we are kids and kids get to do all the best exploring, am I right? Wherever and whenever The Grumpopotamus decides to show his face, we all have quite the fantastical day even if it starts off a little bumpy and grumpy.
